matt baty - Seminole
|
Lake Seminole - Full Pool. Stained. 74 degrees.
Bass - Good. The shad are still spawning so the bite is still good. White and Chartreuse spinnerbaits have been the ticket with the water still slightly stained. The topwater bite is picking up also. Frogs over the grass in the backwaters of the Chattahochee and the Flint River are working well also. Use a Big Bite Bait 3.5" Top Toad in Black/Chartreuse Legs. Rig it on a 5/0 Superline hook and swim it over the tops of lily pads and grass. Look for vicuous strikes. Another good way to catch fish right now is in hydrilla and milfoil patches on the main lake. Use a Carolina-Rig with a 1 oz. lead and a 3 - 4ft leader. The best bait to use is either a Big Bite Baits 6" Finesse Worm or a 6" Big Bite Baits Kriet Kreature. Darker colors such as junebug or green pumpkin are the go to colors with the stained water. A good place to start with the Carolina-rigs is at the mouth of the Chattahoochee River in an area known as the S-Curve. Look for sweeping bends of the old river channels and fish the Carolina-Rig anywhere grass is present.
