topwater and the piers is the combo for this week on logan martin. we fished logan on monday and tuesday and the fish have moved to a pre summer pattern early. Tom Davis and Will Sanders both fished thursday and found the same fish. most of our fishing was from the 20 down to "s" bridge area. the bass we got into last week in the back of the pockets have gone away. we did see 3 or 4 bass still on the beds. but by the look of all the fry in the water that deal is done for the year. early we found the fish to be very hungry and would load up on topwater before 9 a.m. we used a lucky craft in pearl in a gunfish model. this is a stickbait with a small popper on front. it works like a dog but really works up the water. as the sun comes up try a flick shake worm in black, watermelon and green pumpkin colors. we used a fish head spin in 1/16 with a blade under it . the spotted bass will wear you out on this head. we started using this on Smith lake last week with a guide and i will tell you this head work wonders. work this head with a craw or a worm and swim it like a crankbait. the blade puts a ton of action in the bait and it now has a screw in the head that keeps it straight.
