MATT "BOOT" BATY - Seminole
Lake Seminole is at full pool, stained, and 63 degrees on the surface.
Bass Fishing - Excellent. There were two more tournaments over the weekend won with over 25 pounds. Terry Stevens of Marianna, Florida, along with his partner Mason Brock, won the Fishers of Men tournament out of Sneeds on Saturday with 25.78. He backed that up on Sunday with another partner, Clint Brown, with 25.66 in the MediaBass tournament out of Big Jims. This is quite impressive to catch two back-to-back 25 pound+ stringers in 2 consecutive days. The fish are really up on the beds at this time with the full moon being on Wednesday of this week. The best way to catch bass on Seminole right now is to sight fish. Once the bedding bass have been located, throw a 4" Big Bite Baits Salt Tube in any green color. Another good bait is a 6" Big Bite Baits Disc Lizard or Pro Lizard in any green color. White is also a good color choice because of its visibility to the fisherman. Another excellent pattern to catch bass right now is to find sandbars in 6 feet of water or less. Throw a weightless 6" Big Bite baits Trick Stick in Tilapia color. Just dead stick the bait and let it free fall until one grabs it. The bait has a large profile, so I like to use a 6/0 EWG hook.
