CLARKS HILL - Clarks Hill

February 27, 2009

CLARKS HILL IS DOWN 15.2 FEET, 50 DEGREES AND SLIGHTLY COLORED BY TIM WHITE, RAPALA PRO STAFF

Bass have been getting a little more active this past week, according to Tom Hall of South Carolina. It took about a 22 pound sack to win a local tournament last weekend. The Georgia Little River side is starting to produce some very good fish and should do so for at least another month. The Bass are moving up now and you can catch a good limit in the 4 to 8 foot range this week. When the sun comes up over the tree tops, concentrate on wood structure with jigs and creature baits. A good crank bait bite should be present from time to time, especially on those rocky points and road beds when the wind is blowing. Number 5 Shad Raps and a DT6 is sure to work up in the rivers and on rip rap. Lake levels still remain low, so please be careful. Don't forget to use some Catch and Release Formula (Sure Life) in those live wells. Let's release those Bass back into the lake in the best condition possible. I will be at the Bass Pro Shops in Atlanta on March 13 and 14, 2009. Tank demonstrations and a whole lot of fishing stories will be shared.
