Headed out today on a six hour trip with a great angler wanting to learn more about open water fishing. We hit the lake at daybreak and the winds started and never let up making standing on the deck a task of it's own(LOL). We fished nothing but open water humps and ledges staying on grass lines working 6-12 feet of water. We also hit a couple of humps in 15 feet of water with the better results being in the 8-10 foot range. My client threw Jacakall Muscle 10+ crankbaits the entier trip with the exception of about an hour working Omega 1oz football head jigs on the deeper stuff. He ended the day with a solid limit and a two other fish to boot. To be honest the bite was alot better than I expected it to be but the fish are still kinda in a here and there pattern and not stacked up like they were a couple of weeks ago. The winds made it hard to stay on any spot but they should laydaown in the next day or so. The river was way up and we did notice alot of stuff floating just below the surface of the water so be careful if you get out there. Hope everyone has a safe week and looking forward to a great weekend. Stay safe and see you on the water.
God Bless
