LAKE SEMINOLE IS FULL, SLIGHTLY STAINED AND 60 DEGREES BY MATT BATY 229-726-0153 bassinboot@yahoo.com
Bass fishing is excellent and there are several different patterns that can be used to catch fish on Seminole right now. With the warm water temperatures, bass can be caught in the shallows. A recent ABA tournament was won with 5 fish at 32 pounds. Fish can be caught on main lake grass flats. Use a 5/8 ounce Spro Aruku Shad in Mud Bug red color. Flipping dying water hyacinths is also a good way to catch fish during the unstable weather patterns. Flip the shallow coves and backwaters up both rivers. Use a 1 1/2 ounce Tru-Tungsten Lead and a heavy wire flipping hook. Flip a 4" Big Bite Baits Kriet Kreature in Redbug color.
Crappie fishing is also excellent! Specs can be caught on the Flint River where water hyacinths are present near deep water. Use a Big Bite Baits Hal-Fly in 1/16 ounce Lemon Meringue color. Use 4 pound test fluorocarbon with a good sensitive, but limber rod. Cast the jig out, let is sink to the bottom, and then retrieve it painfully slow. The jig seems to catch bigger specs than the minnows. Expect to catch a fairly quick limit.
