Fishing on Logan was good before these cold fronts we just had. Fish were being caught on large spinnerbaits on the river near I-20 and points outside Cropwell. Several fishermen who ran upriver past Broken Arrow found some good patches of grass which held some good largemouth that were able to be caught on Sassy Toads and rats. White, Black/Red and Watermelon Red were the colors of choice for the frog being pulled weightless throught the grass. These fish were caught early and were also caught on Spooks. Anywhere there was grass there were sure to be some fish because you don't usually find it on Logan. Downriver near Stemley Bridge some fish were caught on texas rigged finesse worms with 1/8oz. Davis Shaker worms. Shad raps will also catch some good fish this time of year near the river. Natural patterns will work well. The night bite is coming along with big bladed doing the best on rock points and boat docks. Also try a tube around cover and you are likely to find a good largemouth. Downriver the fishing is still pretty good with most of the fish coming off of plastics fished on deeper points. Spinnerbaits also caught some fish but they aren't as numerous right now. This week should be very good as the weather starts to warm up and the fish get back to normal.
