Things got tough over the last two weeks on Mitchell. Lots of moving water has kept the fish eating, but the normal areas that are good with current are a little "watered down". Fishermen have reported some good catches early on Sammy 85's in Shell White and Chartruese Shad near grass beds. The shad are small and numerous, so key on smaller crankbaits. Flat CB MR in Chartruese Shad and Cherry DD's in Tenn Shad are very good right now near actively feeding fish. The water temp is anywhere from the mid 80's to 90 degrees, but there is a lot of oxygen in the water, so the fish are shallow. Bomber's 4-A Citrus Shad is another good choice right now. The largemouth are keying on plastic right now with the Sweet Beaver leading the way. Dirty Sanchez and Red Shad seem to be the colors of choice. Flirt worms rigged on a Spot Remover head are a very good choice on the upper end with spots in mind.
