This report is for trips on Monday and Wednesday to Wilson lake.
On Monday, I fished with two clients from the Knoxville area. It was a very cold, rainy and windy day. We started out catching a good number of fish for the first couple of hours. Most were Saltwater Stripe and Hybrids, with a couple of smallmouth mixed in. The Salts and Hybrids were very good size. Most were over 8lbs and up to 15lbs. One client caught a Hybrid that was at least 14-15lbs. It was the biggest one I have ever seen. To make it more fun, he caught it on 6lb test line. For the day, we caught about 8-10 bass and 15 Salts/Hybrids.
On Wednesday, I fished with one client from the Huntsville area. Again, we started off catching a number of big Saltwaters Stripe and Hybrids. The largest was about 15lbs. These we made a few changes and started targetting smallmouth. The weird part was that alot of largemouth had moving into a number of smallmouth areas nearly overnight. We caught mostly largemouth with two smallmouth over 4lbs. The big fish was a 4lb 7ounce smallmouth caught by my client. For the day we caught about 25 bass and 10 stripe/hybrids. Our best five bass would have weighed about 16-17lbs.
I have had cancellations for Friday evening and Saturday morning half day trips if anyone is interested. Also, I have Sunday open. If interested, give me a call on my cell phone at 256-762-0014.
Also, I have several open days over the next few weeks. The fishing is very good for this time of year. If anyone is interested in ending the year right, give me a call.
Finally, the Saltwater and Hybrid action is very hot each morning. For the rest of December, I am offering a Saltwater Special trip of 3hours/2 people/$125. This is alot of action in a short period of time.
Thanks Jimmy
