LAY LAKE APRIL 2006

Fished today from the mid lake area down to below Waxahatchee Creek, fishing from 6:30 till 12:30. The morning started out clam with a breeze building as the morning wore on. Surface temperature 61 - 63. Started out in the grass with green and back/blue toads and a white buzz bait, getting two decent LM before the sun popped out, one LM 4 lb 2 oz and the other 4 lb 6 oz. Started hitting piers and boat houses in 4 to 8 feet of water with 3/16 spotstickers and spotsticker green glitter and melon murder hand pours and zoom gourd green finesse worms, picking up 4 more fish from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 lbs with a mix of spots and LM. Moved and started hitting rocky points and banks that fell off into 18 to 20 feet, picking up 6 more spots on the jig head and worm, with 4 of them in the 3 lb range and the others in the 2 to 2 1/2 lb range. A really beautiful morning and fish that wanted to bite, you can't ask for much more than that.
