LOGAN MARTIN MAY 2006
Water Temperature: 71Water Clarity: 6 inches
I was on Logan Martin today searching for a few of those coosa river spots . The day began cool and high winds would come later in the morning . I started with topwater and did not have a single blow up . I followed the topwater with a chatterbait on seawalls and picked up one decent spot. I moved to some off shore areas that has been holding some post spawn largemouth and spots and the fun began for several hours ! I fished a 3/16 oz spotsticker pinned to our key lime pie hand pour and caught keeper fish on two locations . I had over 35 spotted and largemouth with nothing over two pounds but a blast to catch . I had 13 consecutive bites in which I either caught or missed a fish . The fish were located in 12 foot of water off the side of humps around stumps and rock . I am sure a jig, carolina rig, or crankbait bounced off this stuff would work as well as the jighead but I would rather catch them with a sissy stick or fairy wand as the flippers call them ! LOL I think a angler can basically run points and catch numbers of fish right now on logan martin using a variety of baits . Good Fishing and God Bless !
