GUNTERSVILLE JULY 2006

Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 7/30/06

It was a pretty good week on the water I caught fish on a variety of baits, the most fun bite was the rat bite 2 out of the 4 days that we fished, we caught fish on a rat and that was a blast. It brought back memories of the good old days on Lake Guntersville, when the rat was really hot. We also caught fish on Pop-r, worm, flipping a tube, and a Carolina rig lizard, and Punisher’s Lures new “Flame Spinner Bait.” Most of the week we were putting 5 to 9 fish a day in the boat, with several fish each day being missed because they hit a little short or the rat bite was caught up in grass and the fish pulled off. All being said I believe my customers were happy and it was a successful week on Lake Guntersville. The biggest fish caught on a daily bases was in the 4 pound range, and each day we seemed to land one about that size. Most of the week we fished the mid part of the lake, fishing in 4 to 9 feet of water. There was one day we were up around the North end of the lake fishing the river edge along the grass. I believe this will be a great fall for the rat and I am looking forward to the bite getting even better as the summer winds down.
I have only 2 more weeks were I will be offering lessons in fishing techniques please call to inquire about times.
