GUNTERSVILLE APRIL 2007 - Guntersville

GUNTERSVILLE APRIL 2007

Got out today with a Father/Son trip with a couple of guys from Birmingham. After some equiptment issues settled with the son we got started on the lower end of the lake. The plastics bite has been good for me lately but the wind kept us out of most of the spots I had some good fish. When you are "dead sticking" salt licks it is hard to feel the bite and the fish end up digesting the bait before you can feel them. Anyway we found some cover and had a couple of good fish in the boat but they were few and far between. Prob. the worst day as far as numbers go in the last few weeks, but hey thats why they call it fishing right. We ended the day with 7 fish and one good Catfish.LOL but had a great time and they got to see alot more water than they had planned on while I scrambled from the wind. I called my client for Thusday and let him know about the weather front coming and that the winds would just be too much for him and his 9 year old to take so we have moved to another next week. I love to carry out kids but we strive for them to have a great time and good trip to get them hooked on fishing like we all are. It is hard to do when the wind on the water is 30 mph and the waves are 3 footers. Hope everyone is safe this weekend and good luck to all the guys fishing the Fed. tournament at Neely Henry this weekend you better dress warm.LOL
